Two children died when buried in a mud mound

Two children have died in Ghorahi of Dang after they were hit by a mudslide.

12-year-old Madhav Chaudhary and Ashish Chaudhary of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 9 Karmatia died when they were hit by a mound of mud while playing on Sunday afternoon.

According to District Police Chief SP Ram Bahadur KC, three of the four children who went to play on the banks of the Babai River were buried by a mound of mud.

After the incident, two people who were rescued by the villagers and taken to the hospital were immediately declared dead by the doctor. SP KC said that another child, who went to play with him, was partially buried and rescued safely.

Another one of the four children who went to play together was found safe.

According to the police officer, the children were buried with mounds while playing at a place dug by a brick kiln operator on the banks of the Babai River.

SP KC said that investigation into the incident is ongoing.
